Last week I decided to surprise the team with a complete website overhaul. In actuality, I've been planning this for a few months (if not longer) and finally bit the bullet and got to work. After a few days time the site was shaping up into something pretty cool, with loads of new features to really emphasize how much we want to interact with the world at large. Some of the site is live, and some is not. Over the next few days however, it will all be hosted and the intertubes will be able to browse every nook and cranny unobstructed. This is only a small token from myself in celebrating two years of CI.Net. Stay tuned. Big glorious changes are afoot.

CYN @ TGC '10
So another year has come and come and gone and the team has attended another TGC. This year the conference was bigger and better in every way. The lineup of presenters and their topics was stellar, and the round table discussions were a very welcome addition to the usual lecture format. The standard entry fee was also a welcome change as this time around, lunch was included care of Jimmy Johns. Not too shabby when you consider that volume of "customers" who took advantage of the deal. If the trek down out of the mountains equates to nothing more than a nice two day vacation from the usual grind, the price of admission (and the hotel...and rental van) was well worth the cost. Additionally, to end an already great experience, the team left the last day with a few additional trinkets which frankly have the possibility to make some big waves. I'll save that story for some other time.

SPINNR IS LIVE!
Normally I would write a post with a somber overtone recapping recent events, but not today. Today is a great day. Today we have made available our first game. Thanks to the XNA community, we can proudly offer SPINNR to the world.
Go get it!

SPINNR and IGF
So a while back we decided to submit SPINNR in the student category of the 2010 IGF competition. We really had no idea what to expect as the previous years had some fantastic entries, and our title wouldn't stand a chance against what some of the most creative minds would be offering this time around. We were right. However, only partially right. Much to my shock upon checking the latest update, we had received an honorable mention. This is not nearly as glamorous as being selected as a finalist and showing off the goods at the GDC in March, but all things considered its a pretty good step in the right direction. There were nearly 200 entries in this years student category; we were in the top 20. While there might not have been prize money, awards, or super crazy publishing deals associated with it, we certainly have an achievement to be proud of.
